Things I do Sometimes.

Sometimes in the morning, when no one else is awake (or around), I make myself breakfast and coffee and sit at out dining room table and read or write. Today it was peanut butter toast and bitter coffee. I read and it inspired me to write.

Sometimes when I'm writing I get certain letters mixed up. (Like "b" and "p"). And it reminds me to slow down.

Sometimes at night I turn off my light, then turn on the flashlight on my iphone. The light is just enough to see, and just enough to give the room a dreamy glow. I love using that light to write melodramatic poems and journal entries that only I will read.

Sometimes when I pray I like to hold my cat.

I also like to hold her when I cry.

Sometimes when I'm hanging out with my friends, I like to observe for a second as if I'm not there. I take it all in and am thankful for them and my life.

Sometimes when I'm in my apartment, as I'm walking from one room to another, I remember being nine years old and pretending to be in college, saying things like, "Do you want to go to that party tonight? I have the perfect outfit to wear!" like they did in the movies. And now I'm like, "Oh it's five o'clock? Time for pajamas."

Sometimes when I take a picture, I pretend that it's fifty years later and I'm looking at it for the first time in years, remembering when and why I took it.

It's moments like these that make me truly grateful for my life. God has been so good to me, and there aren't enough words to express the joy that fills my heart when I actually take a second to realize this.

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?”

Love the Mary Oliver Quote! And I am so with you - just last night at bible study I was writing some notes down and wrote GC when it was supposed to be CG. Whoa buddy! Your thoughts on the pictures are so sweet, and your nine year old self rocked! hehe.

If I do nothing else, having you in my life is enough.
