Alright, my friends, here's the deal.
My mom and I are making a cake for my friend's sister's baby shower this coming weekend.
I'm nervous.
I've never really made a cake this extravagant before.
Anyway.
I don't want to give out too many details yet, but I'll obviously post a picture when it's done.
It's three tiered.
Has sections of red and blue.
And lots of detail.
But hey, I can do it, right?
(More like my mom can do it, and I can help!)
Here's where you come in.
Any suggestions at all?
On tiering, food coloring, frosting detail?
Anything?

definitely make sure it's all the way cooled before you put any frosting on it!! You probably already knew that, but have fun! can't wait to see it :)
advice: don't drop it. HA i crack myself up :p LOVE YOU
I once made a chocolate cake and totally ruined it. I don't know what I did wrong, but it the whole thing crumbled and in the end it looked like a crater.
Good luck with your one though. (I hope I didn't scare you) Pictures, please! :)
yay yay yay! I love baking cakes...how about a smaller cake with a bunch of cupcakes tiered underneath? Cupcakes are a bit more forgiving..
here are some cute ideas :
